Universal White DIY Furniture Paint and Primer
Universal White is highly pigmented for great coverage using only 1 to 2 coats. It contains stain blockers to stop tannins from bleeding through to the surface. Easy to use and water clean-up. It adheres and bonds to most surfaces providing they are clean and do not have any waxes or polishes on them. Works well as a Primer / undercoat but also contains plenty of resin to protect like a bonding paint. For extra protection, we suggest using your choice of CrystaLac Clear Top Coats. Can easily be tinted with just a dab of latex colorants, Color Boutique Concentrated Pigments or water soluable dyes. Universal White self-levels and won’t turn yellow with age.

The possibilities with Universal White are endless.
For Stain Blocking Primer, use straight as is.
Add dyes or colors and you’ve got a great full coverage furniture paint.
Make your own Chalk Paint by adding a little calcium carbonate.
For White Wash – Mix 1 part Universal White with 3 to 4 parts CrystaLac Super Premium. Add a little color concentrate to that and you’ve got a Colored Wash.
For White Satin or Matte Top Coat - Mix half and half Universal White with CrystaLac Super Premium Satin or Matte, or CrystaLac Polyurethane Satin.

All CrystaLac products (Including Stains) can be intermixed with each other to create endless color and topcoat possibilities.

Instructions: Brush Universal White onto a clean, wax free, scuff sanded surface using thin, even coats. Sand lightly with 400 grit sandpaper to smooth out any pigment particles. For best tannin blocking, allow 24 hours drying time between the first and second coat. After that, allow 2 to 4 hours drying time between each coat and topcoats. Do not use stearated sandpaper or tack cloths. To spray, it may be necessary to thin Universal White with CrystaLac Viscosity Reducer or CrystaLac Retarder – which will thin and also extend the dry time.
